11 Signs Your Body Is Not Sleeping, Including Frequently Waking Up

According to CNBC Make It, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine recommends that adults get at least seven hours of sleep every night. However, many people sleep less than five or six hours every night because there are too many things to do in a day.

1. It takes you 30 minutes or more than normal to fall asleep at night

5. Often wake up suddenly from your proper schedule
6. Often feel sleepy and tired throughout the day

11. Unstable emotions, such as irritability, impulsiveness, excessive anxiety, and even sadness.

To overcome the problem of lack of sleep, Dr. Shah advises everyone to be in bed between 9.00 or 10.00 pm and aim to wake up between 5.30 and 7.00 am. He said, this schedule must be carried out every day without exception.

“Usually, I always take a short nap for 20 minutes so I can have extra energy for activities,” said Dr. Shah, quoted Monday (29/1/2024).

Apart from that, dr. Shah also suggests limiting consumption of animal protein, refined sugar, salt and saturated fat. Because these foods can trigger excessive release of cortisol. Cortisol is a hormone that provides abundant energy for the body.

“Instead, consume fruit and vegetables which can increase the healthy rhythm of cortisol production so you can sleep more soundly,” said Dr. Shah.
