Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The inaugural 2024 vice presidential debate which was held today, Friday (22/12/2023), was heated. The three vice presidential candidates competed with each other regarding economic issues (people's economy and digital economy), finance, tax investment, trade, APBN-APBD management, infrastructure and urban areas.
There are several topics that are virally discussed on the internet. These include, among other things, the Indonesian Capital City (IKN), economic growth of 7%, and the 'slepet' gimmick repeatedly expressed by vice presidential candidate number 1 Muhaimin Iskandar alias 'Cak Imin'.
During the debate, Gibran and Cak Imin tend to have fun arguing. However, Mahfud MD gave a very long closing statement.
There are no less than 21 superior points explained by Mahfud MD. He said these points were a commitment that he and presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo would make if they won the 2024 presidential election.
One of them, Mahfud promised to provide free internet access, namely in point 18.
“18th, super fast, free and even internet,” he said.
Apart from that, several other points concern the provision of employment opportunities, free college for children of Bhayangkara soldiers, salaries for Koran teachers, happy elderly, eradicating KKN, farmers being proud of farming, etc.
