Boosting Upstream Oil and Gas Business, Pertamina Trans Kontinental Adds Fleet News – 24 minutes ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – PT Pertamina Trans Kontinental (PTK) purchased an Accommodation Work Barge (AWB) vessel in the second quarter of 2024. This addition to the fleet is an effort to increase the company's capacity in the upstream oil and gas business.

The addition to the AWB fleet was carried out through the signing of the Protocol of Delivery and Acceptance (PODA) between PTK and PT Pelayaran Tamarin Samudra Tbk (Tamarin) as the previous ship owner on Thursday (18/4). The signing of the PODA was carried out directly by PTK Operations Director, Slamet Harianto and Tamarin President Director, Kardja Rahardjo and witnessed by PT Pertamina Internasional Shipping (PIS) Fleet Director, Muhammad Irfan Zainul Fikri, and other PTK Directors.

PIS Fleet Director, Muhammad Irfan Zainul Fikri, said that the company, as the main shareholder of PTK, welcomed the strategic move to add ships.

“PTK must be able to accelerate in every service. This is of course in line with the spirit of growth carried out in all integrated marine logistics subholding lines. The addition of the fleet must also be accompanied by better service and maintaining Health, Safety, Security and Environment aspects (HSSE),” he said, quoted from a written statement, Monday (22/4/2024).

Meanwhile, PTK Operations Director, Slamet Harianto, revealed that the addition of the AWB fleet was carried out to increase the portfolio in the upstream oil and gas business.

“The addition of AWB is PTK's strategic step in strengthening the company's position in PTK's ship rental services sector. Apart from that, PTK also continues to be committed to increasing service offerings to meet stakeholder needs, including in the upstream oil and gas sector,” added Slamet.

The AWB ship, which was built in 2008, weighs 10,159 gross tonnage with an accommodation capacity capable of accommodating 300 pax. This AWB also has a pedestal crane, helideck, and water-maker and 8 point mooring systems as well as dual class Indonesia & IACS.

This AWB ship is one of the largest AWB ships in its class which is expected to increase the types of PTK services and operations. This allows the company to support offshore activities, maritime logistics in upstream oil and gas exploration and production activities.

“The addition of AWB assets is part of PTK's commitment to expanding its business. We continue to increase service capacity to all stakeholders in the maritime industry and of course strengthen PTK's position in providing integrated and sustainable marine services,” concluded Slamet.
