Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The term Indonesia in the State of the Global Islamic Economy (SGIE) suddenly became busy after the Vice Presidential Candidate (Cawapres) debate which was held for the first time on Friday evening, (22/12/2023) at the JCC, Jakarta. It started with a question asked by Vice Presidential Candidate Number 2 Gibran Rakabuming Raka to Vice Presidential Candidate Number 1 Muhaimin Iskandar.
“Because Gus Muhaimin is the General Chair of the PKB Party, I am sure Gus Muhaimin understands what steps to take to increase Indonesia's ranking in SGIE?” asked Gibran in the vice presidential debate at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Senayan, Jakarta on Friday (22/12/2023).
However, Cak Imin responded to Gibran's question by saying he did not understand what SGIE was. “I've never heard this term,” he admitted.
This interaction then became the spotlight, both by the direct reactions of participants who were present at the location of the Vice Presidential debate. Nor netizens.
Drone Emprit also analyzed the new 'commotion' after the Cawapres debate.
According to Drone Emprit, the question raised about SGIE actually became a negative sentiment for Gibran.
According to him, the total conversation about SGIE is quite high for an issue in less than 24 hours, namely more than 3,500 mentions. However, 71% of them actually contain negative sentiments towards Gibran.
“From a total of more than 35,500 mentions, 71 percent of the sentiment was negative, 24 percent positive, and 5 percent neutral. The total number of X accounts participating in this conversation is at least 18,200 accounts,” said Drone Founder Emprit Ismail in a post on his X social media account as quoted CNN Indonesia, Saturday (23/12/2023).
“From this analysis, it can be concluded that the use of the term SGIE without providing an explanation, gives a very negative sentiment towards Gibran,” he added.
He said that the negative sentiment formed as a result of the conversation formed a fairly large cluster of its own. Where, this cluster tends to contain X accounts which tend to be pro-AMIN, pro-Mahfud MD, and neutral.
According to Drone Emprit's analysis, there are netizens who feel that Gibran is trapped in a question he doesn't understand and has to read the text to answer it.
“Several netizens criticized Gibran for testing his opponent's knowledge with questions that were considered unimportant. Some said that Gibran's questions about SGIE were not to get answers, but only to find out his opponent's ignorance,” he concluded.
