Elon Musk Eliminated as the World's Richest Person, Replaced by This Person


Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Famous entrepreneur Elon Musk must be eliminated from the title of richest person in the world. This was revealed by Bloomberg's Billionaires Index, Tuesday, as quoted by RI Wednesday (6/3/2024).

In that list, Musk had to be eliminated by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. Bezos is in first place with assets of US$ 200 billion (Rp. 3,142 trillion) while Musk has assets of US$ 198 billion (Rp. 3,111 trillion).


According to this index, Musk, who is the CEO of automotive manufacturer Tesla, has lost more than US$ 31 billion (Rp. 487 trillion) over the past year. On the other hand, Bezos' wealth has increased by more than US$ 23 billion (Rp. 361 trillion).

MarketWatch linking Musk's removal from office to the sinking of Tesla shares. Since the beginning of the year, Tesla shares have fallen by around 24%.

This is the first time since the end of 2021 that Bezos has topped the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. He owns about 9% of Amazon, the world's largest online retailer, as well as fully owning space exploration company Blue Origin and other businesses.

Following Bezos and Musk, Bernard Arnault is in third place. He is the CEO of the French luxury goods company, LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy)

“Bezos, Musk and Arnault have been fighting for the top position for years. All three are individuals who once had a net worth exceeding US$ 200 billion,” the media wrote again.
