Franz Beckenbauer has won the World Cup, both as a player and as a manager. He lifted world football's highest trophy in 1974, when captaining West Germany, and in 1990 as manager of his country.
Franz Beckenbauer is considered one of the best players and is one of three people to have won the World Cup as both a player and manager. Brazil's Mario Zagallo and France's Didier Deschamps also achieved the feat.
While still actively playing, Beckenbauer appeared as a midfielder but was more famous as a central defender.
