Gibran Suddenly Shares Recipe for Sour Vegetables, Many Netizens Give Suggestions

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Vice presidential candidate number 2 Gibran Rakabuming Raka has again stolen the attention of netizens because of his tweets. This time, the eldest son of Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) shared a recipe for making delicious sour vegetables.

According to Gibran, to give a delicious sour taste to sour vegetables, it really depends on the type of tamarind chosen. He suggests choosing young tamarind.

“Choose a large one to get a strong sour taste,” he said, quoted by CNBC Indonesia, Monday (19/2/2024).

Apart from that, if you don't have young tamarind, Gibran also suggests that as a substitute, you can use starfruit, a vegetable cut into pieces. You can also use tamarind water.

For context, Gibran once received the nickname 'star fruit vegetable' from netizens. In an interview with CNN Indonesia, Gibran admitted that he was aware of the nickname, but was not at all bothered.

Because, according to his account, he also used these terms as a joke to himself.

“(Aren't you angry?) No. No, this is a joke. If you've known each other for a long time, there will definitely be names like that, it's normal,” said Gibran, quoted by CNN Indonesia.

Based on CNBC Indonesia's monitoring, until this news was released, Gibran's tweet had been seen by more than 161,400 netizens.

Gibran also gave tips so that vegetables don't become tough due to the sour taste. According to him, add acidic water at the end.

“When boiling vegetables for tamarind vegetables, boil the hard vegetables first, such as sweet corn and melinjo fruit, then add the softer vegetables,” said Gibran.

Netizens are busy commenting on Gibran's tips and recipes for sour vegetables. Someone asked the vice presidential candidate to make a cooking video. There are also those who claim to be inspired to make fried noodles after seeing Gibran's tweet. Check out the summary of some netizen comments:
