Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – PT Bank Mandiri Tbk (BMRI) again held the biggest entrepreneurial competition in Indonesia, Mandiri Young Entrepreneurs (WMM) 2023, which succeeded in producing new champions from various business fields. WMM 2023 is Bank Mandiri's flagship program which has been running since 2007 and is a concrete manifestation of its commitment to supporting the development of young Indonesian entrepreneurs.
Bank Mandiri Corporate Secretary Teuku Ali Usman said, WMM is Bank Mandiri's flagship program which has been held since 2007 and is a form of Bank Mandiri's consistency in supporting young Indonesian entrepreneurs. This consistency does not only stop at the competition stage, but continues at the mentoring stage, business development, and also national and local promotions supported by Bank Mandiri.
“WMM is not only a competition event, but has become a solid community of young entrepreneurs and continues to expand from year to year. This is our enthusiasm to continue to consistently develop young Indonesian entrepreneurs,” said Ali in a press release, Sunday (21 /1/2024).
This year, WMM recruited 8,290 applicants from all over Indonesia, with various types and categories of business. Of this number, 24 participants were selected who passed to the final round, who were then tested directly by a panel of judges consisting of Bank Mandiri President Director Darmawan Junaidi, Cultivar Coffeehouse Founder Wulan Guritno, USS Network Founder Sayed Muhammad and Fore Coffee CMO Matthew Adrian.
Of the 24 participants who made it through to the final round, Arka Irfani was chosen to win the title of Best of Best WMM 2023 with the business name Bell Living Lab and managed to take home a prize of IDR 500 million.
Arka is developing a business that uses coffee waste to transform it into contemporary fashion products. So that this material becomes a sustainable product and can be used by many people.
“I feel that WMM is very useful because I can meet inspiring people and can collaborate with each other. I didn't expect that I would be able to get funding to develop a business so that our products can be used more widely by people. Hopefully WMM can continue to inspire the younger generation,” said Arka.
Apart from Arka Irfani, there were also Best of the Best winners from each existing business category, namely the Catering, Social & Environmental, Technology and Creative categories.

Catering Category:
1st place: Muhammad Bayu Hermawan with the Tambiyaku business, which is an affordable healthy food company made from sorghum.
2nd place: Redha Taufik Ardias with the Sila Artisan Tea business, which is a tea producer that has been around since 2018, with a mission to raise the image of Indonesian agri products for the welfare of farming people, “consumer wellness” and the preservation of the archipelago's nature.
3rd place: Wiko Puji Susanto with the Fishsnack business, which is a nutritious snack made from fish that is here to make eating fish easier and more practical, produced from upstream to downstream by empowering fish farmers.
Social & Environmental Category:
1st Place: Mohammad Rofiul Ulum with the Bintang Songo Indonesia business, which is a business that prioritizes Community Empowerment, especially Housewives in the field of plywood waste processing services into Raw Material for Making Plywood or Plywood in Lumajang
2nd place: Yonatan Soedarto Prasetia with the Truly Natural Organic business, which is a natural spice product, suitable for vegans, non-MSG, non-GMO, does not contain soya, does not use dyes and all ingredients empower the results of farmers.
3rd place: Arif Rahman Faiza Asri with the Nom Nom Herbs & Spices business, which is a start-up company that develops sustainable agricultural methods, technology and ecosystems from upstream to downstream with direct coaching support to farmers.
Technology Category:
1st place: Sandy Wijaya with the Ciroes business, which is a Circular economy marketplace that connects sellers and buyers of recycled waste to make transactions easily, quickly and profitably through one platform
2nd place: Ratih Rachmatica with the SIAB Indonesia business, which is a system that solves clean water problems from upstream to downstream starting from finding water sources, automatically filtrating clean water according to Ministry of Health standards, distributing water in real time and online with Internet of Technology technology. Things (IoT) with only one tool (one stop solution).
3rd place: Benarivo Triadi Putra with the Atourin business, which is a provider of inventory catalogs for tourist villages throughout Indonesia consisting of tour packages, local experiences, village homestays, and souvenirs or souvenirs typical of tourist villages.
Creative Category:
