Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – PT Pertamina (Persero) ensures that energy supplies can be met, especially following the flash flood disaster that occurred in the West Sumatra region on Saturday (11/5/2024).
This was stated by the Vice President for Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero) Fadjar Djoko Santoso.
“Pertamina, through the Sumbagut Region, ensures that energy availability in disaster-affected areas meets the needs of local communities in West Sumatra,” said Fadjar in a written statement, Monday (11/5/2024).
Area Manager Comm, Rail, & CSR PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumbagut, Susanto August Satria detailed efforts to provide energy supplies for disaster-affected areas in West Sumatra (Sumbar), his party has activated an alternative tank car route scheme to anticipate the impact of natural disasters which cut off road access to a number of districts and cities in West Sumatra.
According to him, the natural disasters of flash floods and cold lava floods had an impact on energy distribution routes to gas stations, especially in the areas of Tanah Datar Regency, Bukittinggi City, Agam Regency, Payakumbuh City and Limapuluh Kota Regency.
“Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumbagut has activated an alternative tank car route scheme to supply energy (BBM) to the affected gas stations,” he said.
The alternative route scheme mechanism, continued Satria, is that the distribution channel for fuel supplies to Agam Regency, Tanah Datar Regency and Bukittinggi City is diverted via the Sei Siak Fuel Terminal (FT), Riau. Previously, gas stations in several affected areas were supplied through the Teluk Kabung Integrated Terminal (IT), West Sumatra.
“On Sunday (12/5), through a transfer scheme supplies and the alternative carried out by FT Sei Siak in Riau Province is distributing 80 KL (kilo liter) of Pertalite fuel and 80 KL Biosolar to 12 gas stations in Limapuluh Kota Regency (four gas stations), Payakumbuh City (six gas stations), Bukittinggi City ( one gas station), and Agam Regency (one gas station),” he said.
Satria added that SPBE supplies in the city will be supplied by Dumai Integrated Terminal (IT).
“In the midst of quite heavy damage to road infrastructure, currently we continue to coordinate both internally and externally to ensure that the energy supply, both fuel and LPG, continues to be distributed to meet the community's energy needs. Every day we will carry out evaluations regarding this alternative route while looking at temporary improvements to road infrastructure,” said Satria.
Pertamina, as a leading company in the energy transition sector, is committed to supporting the 2060 Net Zero Emission target by continuing to encourage programs that have a direct impact on the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). All of these efforts are in line with the implementation of Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) in all Pertamina business lines and operations.
