One by one Ojol in Indonesia is falling, here is the list Tech – 2 days ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Online motorbike taxis (ojol) have become a necessity for the majority of Indonesian people, especially in the capital city area, for mobility. Therefore, it is not surprising that the market for ojol players is busy in Indonesia.

Many application developers from abroad and from Indonesia offer their facilities to the public. However, only a few players were able to survive.

Uber, one of the big transportation players, finally had to leave Indonesia. Apart from Uber, there are several other ojol companies that are so lackluster that they are no longer heard of in Indonesia.

Anything? Here's the list:

Call Jack

Calljack is a local ride hailing application from Yogyakarta. Their service is similar to Gojek or Grab, namely with two service options called Calljack and O'Jack. Unfortunately their names were lost like the earth swallowed them.

Ojekkoe

Before being inactive, Ojekkoe had 500 driver partners. Even though Ojekkoe is a ride hailing company that was launched as part of the final project of its founder, Katon Muchtar, their service only charges a minimum fee of IDR 2,500 per day to take passengers.

Topjek

When it was released, TopJek offered cheap rates without promos with excellent chat room features. At that time, Gojek and Grab did not have a chat room feature. Apart from that, Topjek also limits the number of drivers to 10,000 drivers with strict selection. Even though it looked promising, Topjek couldn't survive.

Uber

Uber left Southeast Asia, including Indonesia in 2018. Since then they sold the entire business to Grab so that many Uber driver partners have moved to the Grab or Gojek platforms.

LadyJek

LadyJek is one of the ride hailing companies that has attracted public attention. As the name suggests, LadyJek is the first online motorcycle taxi with a female driver for female passengers. LadyJek seemed successful at that time with a total of almost 3,300 drivers. However, LadyJek was forced to close down due to limited capital.

Blujek

Gojek and Grab's biggest rivals also went out of business. Unlike its two ride hailing competitors which are green, Blujek uses blue as its identity and has a fairly large fleet at that time.

OjekArgo

OjekArgo has been inactive since 2017. Unlike other applications, customers who need this ride hailing service only need to download the application and do not need to register or create an account on the application.
