Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – PT PLN (Persero) collaborates with PP Muhammadiyah to provide electricity services and beyond kWh (non-electricity). This collaboration was marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Muhammadiyah Central Leadership (PP).
Both of them hope to create collaboration that will provide great benefits in the energy, education and health sectors. PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo explained that PLN and Muhammadiyah have something in common, namely that they both illuminate, if PLN is to illuminate the archipelago, Muhammadiyah is to illuminate the archipelago's way of thinking.
In this collaboration, the first is to combat global climate change by installing clean energy-based power plants, namely rooftop PLTS which will be installed on assets owned by Muhammadiyah such as education centers, Islamic boarding schools, hospitals, and others.
“By coincidence, two months ago I was invited as a speaker at the Muhammadiyah Global Forum for Climate Change Movement. Here we saw the same commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions in order to run the organization. We also learned a lot from PP Muhammadiyah which has a foundation of the rahmatan philosophy “lil alamin for how to give grace to the universe and tajdid philosophy for how to build an innovative framework of thinking to support adaptive change,” said Darmawan in a press release, Sunday (7/1/2023).
He said, this collaboration is not limited only to providing electricity, but also Beyond kWh which includes providing internet network installations, use of Renewable Energy Certificates (REC) and other Renewable Energy Market-Based Instruments, utilization of property assets, acceleration of Battery-Based Electric Motor Vehicles ( KBLBB), and providing marketing channels for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) owned by PP Muhammadiyah through the marketplace feature on the PLN Mobile application.
“Apart from that, it so happens that many PLN employees use Muhammadiyah health facilities, so we are also collaborating in using PKU Muhammadiyah health facilities throughout the archipelago. For this reason, we would like to express our extraordinary thanks to PP Muhammadiyah, in this case the leadership of Buya Haedar, by signing the work the same between PLN and PP Muhammadiyah,” added Darmawan.
Meanwhile, General Chairperson of PP Muhammadiyah Haedar Nashir said that his party strongly supports PLN's commitment in its efforts to meet every community need with clean electricity. This is seen as a form of PLN innovation to mitigate the impact of global climate change.
“PLN, as an institution that is very close to the basic needs of society, of course this reform will provide the best benefits for the Indonesian people. We give high appreciation for the very significant and even progressive progress of PLN which has carried out many reforms using the concept of tajdid as a philosophy for carrying out steps. progressive steps,” said Haedar Nashir.
Haedar expressed his optimism that this collaboration would produce great results and benefits not only for PLN and Muhammadiyah but more so for the nation and state.
“Lastly, as a step that brings the value of rahmatan lil alamin, we believe that PLN under the leadership of Mr. Darmawan will also certainly take the next steps that will receive the blessings and approval of Allah SWT,” said Haedar.
