Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Senior rock singer Ikang Fawzi openly said that he does not have private health insurance. For his own health insurance, Ikang relies on BPJS Health.
“Currently I don't (have private health insurance), in the past yes. Because I was thinking that it would be more visible to have BPJS, at this age I'm already thinking about it. BPJS is currently flexible, if we want (to be treated in a VVIP room), “We just have to add (pay more). The most expensive (BPJS Health contribution) is IDR 150 thousand a month, class I,” said Ikang in the Cuap-Cuap Cuan Podcast.
Ikang also commented on the plan to implement the BPJS Health Standard Inpatient Class (KRIS) system. According to him, the system is considered even better.
However, Ikang himself said that until now he had never tried treatment with BPJS Health.
“I haven't (ever), but my sister has used it, so I know. That's me, if there is a public service or the state wants to provide something, I want to enjoy it like that,” he continued.
In the podcast, Ikang also said that BPJS itself has become a requirement for various administrative processes. One of them is buying property.
Learning from Ikang Fawzi, was Ikang's financial decision to use BPJS Health wrong?
Of course, every financial plan will be adjusted to the burden and financial goals of the person concerned.
Having insurance itself is also an option. When someone has no problem dipping into their personal pockets to pay the difference in medical costs without sacrificing financial security, there is nothing wrong with that.
