Resignation Season Will Be More Fierce, Careless Employees Will Leave Tech – 3 hours ago




Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The season of resignation or quitting work seems to be getting busier in the next year. The culprit is the adaptation of artificial intelligence or AI technology.

This is known from a survey conducted by PwC on the global workforce. The survey found that the proportion of workers who are expected to change jobs in the next 12 months is higher than the period of “mass resignation” (g(resignation) in 2022.

About 28% of the more than 56,000 workers surveyed by PwC said they were very or very likely to move from their current company, compared with 19% in 2022, and 26% in 2023.

The Hopes and Fears survey conducted by PwC in 2024 also shows that workers are starting to accept new technologies such as generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) and prioritize upskilling amid increasing workloads and increasing uncertainty in the office today.

Pete Brown, global workforce leader at PwC UK, said that employees provide “more value” to organizations that invest so that their employees can improve their skills, one of which is in the use of AI. Therefore, businesses must prioritize improving employee skills and experience.

About 45% of workers surveyed said they experienced increased workloads and accelerated workplace changes in the past 12 months, while 62% said they saw more changes in the workplace in the past year than in the previous 12 months.

Among employees who use GenAI every day, 82% said they expect GenAI to improve their efficiency in the next 12 months.

Quote Reuters, the survey reflects confidence that GenAI opportunities will support their career growth. Because nearly half of respondents surveyed by PwC expect GenAI to receive higher salaries, and nearly two-thirds hope the new technology will improve the quality of their work.

Carol Stubbings, global markets and tax and legal services leader at PwC UK, said employers should invest in staff and technology platforms to reduce pressure and retain talent.

“These findings show that job satisfaction is no longer enough,” he said.
