Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The smell of different fragrances hit your nose when you approach one of the booths at the UMKM EXPO(RT) BRILIANPRENEUR 2023 program. A brand called “Habbie” with its flagship product telon oil presents a combination of aromatic fragrance and traditional medicine.
PT Habbie Bangun Aromatic or the Habbie brand has been one of the participants in the annual event held by PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) since 2019. Showing off at the Jakarta Convention Center on 7-10 December 2023, the Habbie brand utilizes business matching facilities between Indonesian MSMEs and potential consumers, including foreign markets.
Business education for MSME players to continue to grow sustainably and increase business scale, was felt by the Habbie brand when participating in the BRI UMKM EXPO(RT) BRILIANPRENEUR 2023 program recently. CEO Habbie Novita Anggraeni said, since getting to know BRILIANPRENEUR, he feels that his business has bright prospects to continue to grow.
“Meet BRILLIANPRENEUR, we can get a network and get a market, we can sell. We will only join in 2023,” he said in a written statement, Saturday (6/1/2024).
Novita explained that Habbie innovated the basic composition of telon oil with other aromatic oils. This is a new breakthrough in telon oil products where there is a collaboration between aromatic oil and traditional medicine.
Currently, Habbie has released telon oil with 30 sets of aroma variants. This makes Habbie the largest variety of telon oil in the world. Starting from the flower series, tea series, cajuput oil vanilla series, and cajuput oil saffron series.
After studying the requirements for joining BRILIANPRENEUR, Novita and her team sent various things needed as requirements to BRI. “Thank God we always get good feedback. So, just go with the flow,” he said.
When participating in BRILLIANPRENEUR, he continued, the first and main thing the Habbie brand got was education. This includes several webinars that reinforce the business methods and processes of MSME players like Habbie.
By participating in BRILLIANPRENEUR, Novita and her team felt they had to relearn how to run a business so that it could be sustainable. “These various educational programs strengthen us again. Our team is learning again, refreshing their knowledge,” he said.
Another important thing that is obtained through BRILIANPRENEUR is unusual market expansion, namely through business matching for exports. Through BRILLIANPRENEUR he also believes that Habbie's networking will become wider. On the other hand, BRILLIANPRENEUR can also provide many of the needs that MSMEs need, such as assistance.
“BRI, through BRILIANPRENEUR, will provide assistance in the future. This is really needed by MSMEs like Habbie. For example, if we enter an offline retail store, we want to list a product, how do we do it? Usually we will see what brand it is, where it is sold, how much it sells, how much margin it gives. So “Sometimes we don't have that knowledge. With this assistance, MSME actors will become more confident,” he said.
He also said that if business matching is successful and gets an export market, other assistance needed is related to legal aspects. Novita also said that BRILLIANTPRENEUR really helps MSMEs to continue to increase the scale and capacity of their businesses.
Currently, Habbie's market is getting wider. Apart from being marketed online through various e-commerce platforms, Habbie is also marketed offline through baby shops or specialty stores. Habbie has now been able to absorb up to 50 workers, growing rapidly from initially only 5 business pioneers. For raw materials, Habbie is 100% natural product from within the country.
“Thank God, since 2019 Habbie has continued to develop. However, we still need assistance and guidance. Therefore, we are very grateful to be able to participate in BRILIANPRENEUR. It can bridge the dreams of MSME players to continue to progress and develop,” he concluded.
For information, UMKM EXPO(RT) BRILIANPRENEUR 2023 is part of a series of activities for BRI's 128th anniversary and was officially closed by BRI President Director Sunarso on December 10 2023 at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC). This activity succeeded in recording a dealing commitment through business matching worth USD 81.3 million dollars or IDR 1.26 trillion (assuming an exchange rate of IDR 15,500 per USD).
Sunarso hopes that holding this activity can have a positive and widespread impact on the progress and development of the capacity and quality of Indonesian MSMEs.
“The MSME EXPO(RT) BRILIANPRENEUR program is one of BRI's concrete steps as a financial institution which is also responsible for advancing Indonesian MSMEs. BRI sees a big opportunity for Indonesian products to enter the global market. The work of the nation's children is considered to have quality that can compete with products from other countries,” explained Sunarso.
