Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) through the BRILian Village program gave a prize of IDR 1 billion to 1 selected village. This appreciation is given to villages that are considered to be actively moving forward to encourage the people's economy.

BRI President Director Sunarso explained that currently BRI has more than 1,800 assisted villages in the BRILian Village program. Through this program, each assisted village is empowered to be able to develop its economic potential, including tourism, agricultural production and trade, to digitalization.

“And we compete in this every year. 1st place winner gets IDR 1 billion for 1 village for further development,” he said in CNBC Indonesia Market Outlook 2024, Thursday (15/2/2024).

For your information, the BRILian Village program started in 2020, which is the company's strategy to get to know the region's potential more deeply. This program is also part of the integration of empowerment activities and the existence of BRI mantri together with other initiatives, namely BRI-assisted business clusters, market.idas well as Hyperlocal Ecosystem which is a form of Micro Consolidation Ecosystem.

BRILiaN Village is a village empowerment program with the aim of producing role models in village development as a form of agent of development in developing villages. By the end of 2023, 3,178 villages have received BRILiaN Village empowerment.

Separately, Sunarso emphasized that the BRILiaN Village program is an example and unique role function. Where in one program, two objectives are met, namely growing economic value as well as social value.

“The BRILiaN Village Program is BRI's commitment as a state-owned company to implement economic value and social value simultaneously so that there is no need for conflict. With BRI's ability to navigate challenges well, the company's goals can be achieved well,” explained Sunarso.
